We have studios in Windsor and Ashgrove, suburbs of Brisbane Australia.
Lessons are $40 per half hour over a 12 week block. If you can’t commit for 12 weeks – no problems, we offer a 9, 6 and 3 week block as well (the cost per lesson rises slightly for the shorter blocks).
If finding a regular time is hard, we can also do one off lessons for $48 per half hour.
From 9am till 9pm, but available lesson times depend on our current volume.
Of course we can, everyone can play music, including you. Start today!
Our mentoring staff are professional players, and have received specific training from IMA to ensure they are well rounded instrumentalists and musicians. If you have a professional problem, we can help you.
Definitely not. In fact, studies have shown that as you age, studying music can help stave off dementia. Just by having music lessons, you’ll be improving your general quality of life in endless ways. For that reason alone you should be playing music. Start right now!
We offer Guitar, Piano/Keyboard, Male/Female Voice, Bass Guitar, Double Bass, Sax, Flute, Clarinet, Violin, Cello, Trumpet and Drums. Double Bass, Cello, Trumpet and Drums are currently only available at our Windsor Store.
Pretty much all of them, including Pop, Rock, Jazz, Classical, Folk and Blues. We may struggle with very specific styles like Flamenco Guitar or Macedonian Dance Music(!), but we can point you to specialist teachers if we can’t help you.
At IMA we cover all aspects of music making. This can be the techniques that you need to play metal or jazz, or to be a great karaoke singer! We are also unique in that we offer improvisation and writing lessons as standard and pay special attention to the mental techniques that will help you progress faster right from your first lesson.

Yes. It’s very difficult for you to improve and progress if you don’t have access to your own instrument at home. If you are a beginner and unsure what to buy, call us on 3852 1116, we can help you.

Yes we do, but only if specifically requested by you.
Yes we can.
Everyone can play, how long it takes depends on you! Don’t worry, we’ll help make it as quick as it can be!
How long is a piece of string? Music is simple and you don’t need to be “musically gifted” to play music well. But even though music is simple it will take you time and regular playing to realise your potential. You can become a fantastic player, it’s all up to you. Book in your first free lesson now!
We certainly do. We will also be offering Kinder Music classes in the future for children under 5.
In a group lesson situation you will not receive the specialist attention that you need to realise your musical potential. A group lesson might seem cheaper but ultimately it will cost you more when you don’t receive the individual attention that you need and your progress is slow. This is a philosophy that we maintain in spite of the fact that group lessons would generate more income for our company. We believe that your needs come first.
You won’t progress as fast as you could, but that won’t stop you having a productive half hour lesson once a week. We can also help you with time management and the focus to help you enjoy (and make time for) practice.
Yes, but we do have options for using an IMA instrument for some lessons.
We’ll place you for a first free lesson with a Mentor that we feel will be able to help you best. If you are unsure about your first lesson, we’re more than happy to place you with another Mentor (where they are available).
Ask when you make your first appointment and one of our Mentors will make time to give you a call and help you out. As a general rule, pick an instrument with a good brand reputation (check the internet for reviews) as this will give you your best chance of quality and of a high resale value, which will be important if you want to upgrade later.
