Our classes are different at IMA.

At IMA we spent years developing our teaching philosophies

One day, we realised we were more mentors than teachers.

A Mentor is someone who doesn’t teach, they guide.

A Mentor don’t push or lead, they progress with you.

A Mentor knows how to help you get there, because they’ve been there themselves.

Our lessons take place as one on one sessions only. Learning to play music with more than one person in a lesson is ultimately an ineffective and frustrating way to learn.

Our lessons are given in blocks of 10 or 12 lessons (depending on what you prefer). 10 week of lessons is $300, 12 weeks is $360. Though playing music is easy, it takes time to learn to play, and we have to spend time with you to help you get the most out of your playing.

Your first lesson with IMA will be all about finding out what you want from your lessons.

This will cover what music you enjoy listening to, what music you would like to play and any specific stuff you might want to know (chord construction, how to read tab, how to improvise etc).

If at the end of your first lesson, you feel that we can teach you what you want to learn, then you can sign on for a full term of lessons.
